![]() | Larry Mitchell grew up in the historic city of Selma, Alabama. He was strongly influenced by the music and events of that locale. After leaving home Larry found his way to Southern California where he quickly embraced Gram Parsons' vision of a "Cosmic American Music" that would blend Country, Rock, and Rhythm and Blues. But, music was not Larry's only interest. He has worked as a draftsman and a piano technician as well as a pastor of a small urban church. He has done volunteer service in disaster relief and prison work. Through it all music has been the common thread. Through it all Larry has continued to play and write songs. In the mid-nineties Larry was a member of Curb Recording Artists "Dallas County Line". After "Dallas County Line" disbanded in 1996, Larry settled in Nashville where he spends most of his time writing, although, this past year has found him doing some live shows with "Davis Raines and The Faders". Larry's new C.D. The Bridge (TexPatriate Records) is a tribute to his musical and physical roots. The songs speak of romance, heartbreak, and the search for meaning and purpose in this life. The journey Larry began back in Selma continues on today. |
